Q2. How do I go about buying property in Turkey?
Before visiting Turkey we recommend you to visit our website and specify the properties that fit your desires and budget. Then you can contact us. Q3. Do I personally need to be present to sign the title deeds on completion?
We always advise clients to arrange for Power of Attorney so that the lawyer can sign on your behalf. This saves the frustration of sitting around in an office in the centre of Alanya for hours on end, waiting for things to get moving! Once your title deed application is sent back from Izmir Army Headquarters the lawyer signs the documents and register the property under your name.

Q4. How much should I allow on top of the purchase price for costs/expenses?
As a rule of thumb, allow for between 5% and 6% of the purchase price as costs. These are as follows:

· 1% lawyer fee to be once only 1.5 % property purchase tax to be paid once only
· 3% agent commission to be paid once only
· €60- £40 registration of title deed on your name to be paid once only
· €100-£60 Notary Public expense to give the Power of Attorney to your lawyer and translator fee to be paid once only
· € 160-£115 for water and electric registration together for brand new properties to be paid once only
· €60- £40 for water and electric registration together for used properties for name transfer to be paid once only
· €5-£3 for phone line registration to be paid once only
· €0.75-£0.50 is the cost of water per m3.
· €0.10-£0.06 is the cost of electricity per Kwh

Q5. Will my property be freehold?
Yes, all properties that Living in Adrasan Real Estate & Construction deals with are freehold properties.

Q6. Why do I pay 3% agent commission?
It is an official service charge in Turkey for all the registered Real Estate Agents.
